In what could well be the last-ever participation by 41 (R) Sqd RAF to Malta, a formation of 4 jets comprising two Harriers and two Tornados will grace the static park at this year's airshow. Additionally, the Belgian Air Force will be participating in the flying display programme with a specially-painted F-16.

WEFLY is a team of small aircraft flown by physically dsabled pilots. It will be an honour to host WEFLY at this year's Malta airshow because it sends a very strong signal to similarly disabled Maltese persons that so much can be achieved. As organisers, this means quite a hefty expense but we are confident that sponsors would be found to support WEFLY's visit to Malta this September.
In the meantime, you may want to have a look at our new 'merchandise' page on our website. Some neat items there in limited quantities at very good prices.

Preparations continue with some intensity now and a few other participants may yet appear on the list of aircraft for this year's airshow. The airshow area map has been finalised and agreed, no easy job this due to the totally new public area and new security challenges that had to be overcome. Hope readers here have liked the poster and as we get into the final month of preparations we will all start looking at the weather and hope to be blessed with as fine weather as we had last year.
The Royal Netherlands Air Force confirms participation of a KDC-10 and C130 in static display.

Fast approaching the event now and the challenges with aircraft and car-parking continue being tackled. The airshow poster can now be seen to the left of this text and keep an eye on the participants' list which may yet change with some additions being presently discussed with new and existing nations on the present list. Not all is rosy though since the Malta Tourism Authority, after having consulted us on various matters, has gone totally silent and seems like it lacks the courage to come back to us with a negative answer. However, this will not discourage all of us who work on the airshow to push ahead with the event because in the end we know very well that MTA's priority sequence doesn't always make sense.

The Patrouille de France will grace Malta's skies during the Malta Int'l Airshow. The team's participation has recently been officially confirmed. The aerobatic team's last visit to Malta was in the very first Malta airshow in 1993, held over Marsamxett harbour.

The 17th edition of the Malta Int'l Airshow has been a great success and the public enjoyed the show in glorious, hot weather. The Malta Aviation Society and Malta International Airport plc thank the general public that attended and also helped in the safe running of the show.
